GM300 native DOS RSS - Windows XP one-click package
===================================================

Version
-------
Motorola Radius GM300/GR300/M120/M10/M130 RSS B05.00.02
Copyright data in the original program: 1992-1995.

Requirements
------------
1. 32-bit Windows XP. Windows XP x64 cannot run 16-bit DOS programs natively.
2. A real motherboard/PCI serial port enabled and assigned as COM1.
3. The correct Motorola RIB/programming cable and a stable radio power supply.
4. Local administrator rights for the first installation.

Install and run
---------------
Double-click INSTALL_XP.CMD. It copies the complete program to:

    C:\GM300

It then creates "GM300 DOS RSS" on the desktop and starts the program.
After installation, use that desktop shortcut or START_GM300.CMD.

Serial-port setting
-------------------
The launcher verifies that Windows can see physical COM1 before starting RSS.
In GM300 RSS, press F9 for SETUP Computer Configuration and confirm that the
serial port is COM1 before reading or writing a radio.

Archive path
------------
The supplied GM300.CFG uses:

    C:\GM300\ARCHIVE

Important radio precautions
---------------------------
- Read the radio first and save a backup before changing anything.
- Do not disconnect power, the RIB, or the serial cable during a write.
- Confirm COM1 in SETUP Computer Configuration before use.
- Old RSS is CPU-timing sensitive. Close other software while programming.
- Use only with supported radios and lawful frequency/settings.

Original program integrity
--------------------------
GM300.EXE and all GM300_*.OVL files are unchanged.
